The Work That Reconnects Network Visions for 2022-23
The Weavers’ team for the Work That Reconnects Network created these vision statements to guide us in the coming year. Some of these intentions have already come to be; others have yet to bear fruit, but we hold them all in our hearts and minds as we continue our work together as weavers in the Network.
Call for Submissions: Deep Times, September 2022
For our next issue, in September 2022, we are seeking contributors from all over the world, particularly outside the US, to show how the Work That Reconnects or other related or more ancient deep ecology ritual and practices are helping people grapple with the many crises before us all, how to stay connected or reconnect with earth and each other, and how to prepare or refresh ourselves for our role in the healing of the world.
Deep Times: Unraveling Patriarchy and Shifting the Paradigm
The theme for our current issue of Deep Times, Unraveling Patriarchy and Shifting the Paradigm, is now available.
The response has been heart-warming. We are grateful for all the submissions, both the ones we used and the ones we had to turn away or set aside for a future issue. We’ve put together a rich array of articles, essays, poems and artwork that address the challenge of unraveling patriarchy and shifting the dominant paradigm to one of reverence and respect for all life, based on our radical interconnectedness with our fellow humans of all cultures, ancestry, and identities and with all beings of Earth.

Eyes Wide Open to the Injustices, Challenges and the Possibilities – The Passing of Three Greats
We start 2022 with gratitude for all that is: as root teacher Joanna Macy has said, just being alive on this Earth is enough to celebrate.
We have, however, experienced important losses in just two months: social activist and author bell hooks, human rights activist Desmond Tutu, and master precursor of the concept of engaged spirituality Thich Nhat Hanh.
Each of them left us with eyes wide open to the injustices and challenges as well as the possibilities. And their passing opens the doors for new leaders and actions based on the inspiration they sowed.
Deepening into Gratitude
As the Work That Reconnects Network continues to apply anti-oppression and decolonization frameworks to the Work That Reconnects, the Weaver’s team reflects on this season of gratitude and the opportunity to deepen our awareness and connection to the local Indigenous communities of the land we live with and Indigenous communities world wide.
