This month we feature Molly Young Brown, whose contributions to the Work That Reconnects – including co-authoring Coming Back to Life – span decades. We join Molly in celebrating her 80th birthday, and with grateful hearts we honor her as she retires from her role as a Weaver of Work That Reconnects Network. Volunteer Kelsey Eaton interviewed Molly; this is what she learned.

Connecting with Your Ancestors
Our Ancestors are waiting for us to pay attention to them, to acknowledge them, and our lives begin within them. We carry them in our minds, bodies and spirits. They made great sacrifices and made great choices for us to be able to be alive. As we honor them, we honor the miracle of having a body, mind and a spirit. We become connected to a whole lineage and legacy that is manifesting in us.
Eyes Wide Open to the Injustices, Challenges and the Possibilities – The Passing of Three Greats
We start 2022 with gratitude for all that is: as root teacher Joanna Macy has said, just being alive on this Earth is enough to celebrate.
We have, however, experienced important losses in just two months: social activist and author bell hooks, human rights activist Desmond Tutu, and master precursor of the concept of engaged spirituality Thich Nhat Hanh.
Each of them left us with eyes wide open to the injustices and challenges as well as the possibilities. And their passing opens the doors for new leaders and actions based on the inspiration they sowed.
