Spiral Journey 2020 – Facilitator Development Programs – Registration Open – Oct 20, 2019 to February 15, 2020
Foundations Program March 28 – Aug 22 and Advanced Facilitation starts Fall 2020
The Spiral Journey Facilitator Development Program is designed to meet the needs of people who aspire to facilitate the Work That Reconnects. This program supports emerging and experienced facilitators in deepening their theoretical understanding of the Work and developing their skills in facilitation so they feel confident in bringing the Work to their communities. The program gives special attention to social justice issues and re-framing the Work That Reconnects so it can serve to dismantle oppression and foster liberation for all.
Molly Brown, Mutima Imani, and Constance Washburn are the core team of program facilitators. Occasional guest teachers, including Joanna Macy, will grace us with their wisdom as well.
Spiral Journey 2020 – A Facilitator Development Program will be offered in two parts. You may choose to participate in one or both parts, depending on your needs and experience.
Part One – Foundations of Facilitation of the Work That Reconnects -Starts March 28.
A 6 month online course and learning community with regularly scheduled webinars, online learning platform, study circles, homework, and optional “cafes.” Webinars will be held on the 4th Saturday of the Month at two different times to accommodate multiple time zones.
The course curriculum addresses four major “threads”:
- The Work That Reconnects concepts and practices
- Facilitation skills
- Decolonizing Our Minds and Building Inclusion
- Living the Great Turning.
The Foundations course is open to beginning facilitators in the Work That Reconnects. Prerequisites include 1) participation in at least 3 days of experiential practice in the Work That Reconnects (retreats, workshops, ongoing study groups); 2) read books: Coming Back to Life and Active Hope; 3) diversity/anti-oppression study or training.
Applications are accepted on a first come first serve basis and no later than Jan 6. The application process includes an online or phone interview to mutually assess whether the course is a good “fit.” Click here for Application.
The cost of the 6 month program is on a sliding scale between $1,200 and $2,000. The more people who participate at the higher level, the more scholarships we’ll be able to give. Once accepted into the program, a 50% deposit is required to hold your place.
Part Two – Advanced Facilitation of the Work That Reconnects (Fall 2020 dates TBA)
The heart of this course is a residential 10-day intensive, with introductory and follow-up webinars. The intensive will provide for practice facilitation with feedback and in-depth exploration of WTR concepts and the environmental and social crises in the world today,
This course is open to those with previous experience facilitating the Work That Reconnects who want to deepen their skills and understanding as well as connect with other WTR facilitators. People completing the Foundations course or previous Spiral Journey programs–and have some experience facilitating the Work–may apply.
The Spiral Journey Intensive will be held in Northern California at a residential retreat center, in autumn 2020.. We’ll announce the time and place and cost as soon as we know.
(Other Intensives may be offered by senior facilitators in other locations around the world.)
Please indicate your interest by completing this FORM. Once we have the application process set up, we will send you an application.
