Widening Circles Kitchissippi Valley presents from the work of Joanna Macy: The Work That Reconnects
A Council of All Beings On November 10th 2019 from 9 am till 5 pm at 415 chemin Haut de la Chute, Rigaud Quebec, Kathryn and Pat invite you to take part in a Work That Reconnects Day. Our focus will be the ritual Council of All Beings, wherein we enter into a circle, with mask or costume, using our voices to represent the voice of a living entity of our Earth – to speak at the Council in turn with others.
Imagine that all living beings could be present to our Council Circle, and that some would speak through us of their current lives and the lives of their brothers and sisters, a chance to express how it is now and to give the humans, women and men, the messages that they(we) need to hear.
Masks – Music – Poetry – Ceremony – Dedications – Movement
The Spiral – Coming from Gratitude, Honoring our Pain for the World, Seeing with New/Ancient Eyes, and Going Forth. In a setting by the rocky running river, we will immerse ourselves in the Spiral of the Work That Reconnects, preparing for our participation in the Council of All Beings. Time in Nature, Time for Mask Making, Deep Time, to reconnect with the Living Body of the Earth and with the Ancestors and the Future Beings.

THE WORK THAT RECONNECTS IS A FORM OF GROUP WORK DESIGNED TO FOSTER THE DESIRE AND ABILITY TO TAKE PART IN THE HEALING OF OUR WORLD.- Joanna Macy
The Work That Reconnects is informed by Deep Ecology, systems thinking, Gaia theory, and spiritual traditions (especially Buddhist and indigenous teachings), as well as group wisdom from earlier workshops. Common to all of these is a non-linear view of reality. It illuminates the mutuality at play in self-organizing systems, and unleashes the power of reciprocity. – joannamacy.net
In the spirit of gift economy, we would like to offer you a hot vegetarian lunch, materials for mask making and art, the hosting location and our guidance through the introductions, ceremony of the Council, and followup. If you are moved to contribute up to $75, or goods or services of value (for example – a quantity of dry firewood, massages, energy treatments, produce, airport rides, ……) we will be most grateful. No one will be turned away because of lack of resources. We also value help with setup and cleanup.
