What a time we are living in! I know I am not alone in feeling waves of horror, disbelief, rage and sorrow at the newest reminders of systemic racist violence at the hands of our police, the backlash against democratic protests, and the deep societal disparities being revealed by the ongoing pandemic. I am craving a safe place to process all of this in an authentic and constructive way. I will be offering an ONLINE Active Hope workshop this Sunday, July 12th, from 3-4:30pm. Please RSVP by Friday at 5pm so that I can plan activities accordingly, and send you the Zoom link for the workshop.
How to Face the Mess We’re in without Going Crazy*
(*Based on the book by Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone)
The challenges we face in today’s world can be difficult even to think about — coronavirus, systemic racial violence, climate change, mass extinction, social and political division and upheaval. Yet, turning away from the realities we face diminishes hope. In these monthly interactive workshops, we will:
STRENGTHEN our mutual capacity to face our social and ecological crises
RESPOND with resilience and creative power
ACT on behalf of our world and future generations
Workshop participants will explore the principles of Active Hope through discussion, experiential activities, and group support. Participants can come monthly (each month has new topics and activities to explore), but each workshop also stands alone. No previous experience necessary. Feel free to invite friends whom you think may be interested!
