Reawaken to Your Interconnectedness with Life. Empower your Work for the Earth.
A 4-day immersion into “The Work That Reconnects”
* With optional FACILITATOR TRAINING Hui add-on! *
Thurs 8 March 2018, 6pm – Sun 11 March 2018, 1.30pm
with Inna Alex and Anahata Yoga Teachers
at Anahata Yoga Retreat, Golden Bay, South Island, New Zealand
Join us for an extraordinary, heart-felt journey into enhanced connection and empowerment through Deep Ecology & Yoga.
We are alive at an extraordinary moment in time: It is a time of growing uncertainty, as climate catastrophe looms, the sixth mass extinction accelerates, and the wounds of inequality and inhumanity are laid bare. It is also a time of great possibility when creativity, courage, and collective action can change the political and ecological landscape for future generations. A time when many of us are seeking ways to reconnect to one another and to the living Earth, and to bring forth our particular gifts to contribute.
The Work That Reconnects is a transformational body of work that includes theories and practices enabling us to reconnect to our own true nature, the web of life, and to our human community. Opening our hearts and minds to the love and the grief we feel for our world empowers us to act on behalf of Earth.
During this 4-day/3-night residential retreat we will be touching our innermost responses to the condition of our world and reconnecting with our sense of wonder for the web of life. Strengthened by generations past and encouraged by those yet to come, we can tap our own deep awareness and creativity to chart a course for taking action in a way that brings us alive.
We will use experiential practices, poetry, ritual, song, movement and silence to guide our journey through the four stages of the spiral of the Work That Reconnects. These four stages support one another and help us experience first hand that we are larger, stronger, deeper, and more creative than we have been brought up to believe.
We will support our journey by participating in the yogic practices at Anahata Yoga Retreat, including Asana, Pranayama, Yoga Nidra, Havan and Meditation.
Drawing on the work of Joanna Macy, John Seed and Arne Naess this workshop will empower you to act on behalf of Earth with clarity, love and direction.
No previous experience in Yoga or Deep Ecology necessary.
“FACILITATOR TRAINING HUI” ADD-ON
2 sessions: Thursday 8 March, 3-6pm, plus Sunday 11 March, 1.30-4.30pm
This add-on option is available for workshop participants wishing to step into facilitating The Work That Reconnects or those already facilitating who wish to join a community of facilitators for experiential sharing.
Two co-creative sessions (one pre- and one post-workshop) support your own transformational Deep Ecology journey as well as to gain confidence assisting others on the path to coming back to life.
The first session will offer theory about the four successive stages of the work, group facilitation basics, and pointers for observing and learning from workshop facilitation during the weekend. Following the workshop completion, we will have an extensive de-brief, involving both practical aspects of facilitation and workshop layout as well as reflections on our personal journeys.

„For me, Joanna’s “Work That Reconnects” is the bridge between our spiritual journeys & how we act in the world. I’m amazed how powerful this work is in enabling us to experience ourselves as part of the Living Whole and recommit to wholeheartedly engage in its healing. I am very excited to be offering this work in conjunction with a supportive yogic practice at such a special location.“
