Registration opens May 15 for our August 26 workshop with Joanna Macy, “Taking Heart in Troubled Times.” Space will be limited; mark your calendar to register on May 15.
Joanna Macy, PhD, is an eco-philosopher, Buddhist scholar, and a visionary leader in the movements for healing our planet, for environmental stability, for a survivable future for our children, and for engaged spirituality on behalf of all beings. The author and coauthor of more than a dozen books, Joanna has led workshops around the world since publication of her 1983 book, “Despair and Power in the Nuclear Age.”
Joanna’s work draws from her rich studies of systems theory and deep ecology. Weaving in strong cords of indigenous and Buddhist wisdom and practice, Joanna is acclaimed for her brilliant intellect and warm humanity, and for her passionate love of Planet Earth. She is widely recognized for the eclectic experiential processes and wisdom incorporated in the interactive model she has named “Work that Reconnects.”
In 2013, Joanna Macy received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Bioneers Foundation. “Learning to See in the Dark,” a 2017 interview with Joanna by Dahr Jamail, was published in Truthout in January this year, and numerous Vimeo and Youtube clips are available online.
The August 26 workshop will have limited space and is likely to fill, so early registration is strongly encouraged.
