Listening to the Land: Repairing Relationships with the Living World
August 14, 2026 @ 7:00 pm - August 16, 2026 @ 4:00 pm PDT
Event Overview
Meeting at the confluence of restorative justice principles and Anishinaabe insights into interconnectedness, reciprocity, and belonging, this workshop explores respectful, healing and collaborative ways of relating with the living world.
Healthy relationships are built on trust, listening, and mutual respect. When these elements are in practice, they shape how we show up, how we make decisions and how we respond when we get it wrong. This gathering offers teachings, tools and practices for participants to explore a repair process in relation to a more-than-human being of your choice (i.e. animals, plants, fungi, water, landscapes and living systems).
Through ritual, reflection, storytelling, movement, land-based practices, and restorative interactions, participants will deepen their connection with the land, gratitude, grief, and reciprocity.
Whether you are new to ecological work or already engaged in caring for the Earth, this retreat offers a welcoming and embodied space to examine the relationships that sustain life, acknowledge the impacts of disconnection, and discover pathways toward belonging and reciprocity with all our relations.
