This webinar will explore ways to use WTR online to build community resilience. The Work That Reconnects is so needed in this time of the pandemic and the Great Unraveling. As facilitators, we can reach out to our local communities and neighborhoods to provide connection, inspiration, and a framework for moving into the Great Turning together. Using Work That Reconnects practices and concepts in an online setting, we can invite people to come together across the current physical distancing as well as across historic racial and social divides to find ways to support each other in harmony with our Mother Earth.

We will share practices from Work That Reconnects and other sources that we have adapted to work online. We’ll also share suggestions for timing and structuring webinars using the Spiral that we have found work well, while mentioning pitfalls to avoid and offering templates for designing your own offerings.

This webinar will be offered at two different times to accommodate all of the time zones we are in around the world.

Facilitators: Constance Washburn and Mutima Imani

Constance has been studying and practicing the Work That Reconnects since 1994. In 2014 she began to focus on doing the Work fulltime. She has been offering WTR online for 5 years and has found it to be a process of trial and error to see what works. She is looking forward to sharing what she has learned with the WTR community. She is currently co-leader and facilitator of the Spiral Journey: a Facilitator Development Program in the Work That Reconnects and on the core Weavers’ Team of the Work That Reconnects Network. She is a founding member of the Elders Action Network and has developed and now facilitates their online Empowered Elder Workshop, which is based on WTR. She also leads Active Hope courses online through the Transformative Learning Foundation.

Mutima introduces twenty-first-century tools for personal/professional development and transformation. She is a global diversity specialist inspiring people to heal locally for global impact. Her leadership includes being on the team at several WTR retreats with Joanna Macy. She co-facilitates the Spiral Journey: a Facilitator Development Program in the Work That Reconnects with Constance and Molly Brown. Mutima has an MA in Public Admin. with an emphasis in phenomenology. Additionally, she is a Religious Science Minister.
