Our Ancestral Call to Dance
Oct 19, 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pmFree
As long as human beings have been on the planet, we have been singing and dancing and telling stories.
Facilitated by artist facilitator, Elizabeth Glenn-Copeland w/ Beverly Glenn-Copeland on djembe, we’ll enter into a mindful space to dance the Spiral: Gratitude, Honouring our Pain, Seeing through New Eyes, and Going Forth, thus beginning the process of embodying the courage required to play our part in creating a new, life-affirming narrative. Each session will open with a song and close with a community circle dance.
Elizabeth has over thirty years experience facilitating creative process. She has been singing, acting and dancing since childhood, and has performed on stages across Canada and the U.S. including the National Arts Center (Ottawa), the Charlottetown Festival, and in Honolulu where she played the ‘Witch’ in ‘Hansel and Gretel’ with the Honolulu Symphony. Elizabeth’s work has evolved at the intersection of the arts and environmental/social justice. She facilitates a safe entry into the call to dance with a view to creating fertile ground for the Work that Reconnects.
No previous dance experience required.
No shoes on studio floor. By donation.
