Regenerative Culture Course
Sep 10 - Sep 17$450
7-day course with the Work that Reconnects at Ecosystem Restoration Camp Altiplano, Spain. What kind of practices can we do to bring us closer to nature and a regenerative culture that sustains life? How can we support each other at this difficult time in history? How can we live through the coming decades with a sense of purpose and meaning in our heart? What kind of practices can we do together? Join us in Murcia, Spain at Ecosystem Restoration Camp Altiplano in Spain for in-depth sharing and exploration of practices by Joanna Macy, combined with hands-on experience of ecosystem restoration at the Camp.
This course aims at giving you an insight into the practical lessons learnt at Camp Altiplano, after 3 years of implementing restoration and rehabilitation techniques. We will teach you how we are restoring the land here at Altiplano, bringing in examples from the field that can be applied in similar climates and contexts that could be relevant to you.
At the same time we will look into our own perception of the concept of ‘regeneration’. Why do we feel attracted to it? What does it encompass, and what does it mean for our lives? How do we build a regenerative culture that goes beyond technical solutions and includes our personal and cultural attitude towards nature?
The concept of regenerative culture acknowledges that the restoration of degraded ecosystems and landscapes is not only a physical or technical concern, but also deeply cultural. If we continue to operate from a merely utilitarian perspective, we will continue degrading the land in one way or another. Regeneration thus requires a shift towards a perspective in which we are co-inhabitants of the earth rather than a dominant species. How can we do that?
