Event Overview

In these times, we are called to cultivate our innate connections

with one another and our sacred living Earth.

In this two-day non-residential retreat, participants experience practices that Carol and Grace weave together from Buddhist contemplative teachings and the Work That Reconnects. On the first day, we anchor our hearts in gratitude for the world and each other. Grounded in our fundamental attitude of care, together we open our hearts to recognize and honor our pain for the world. This lays a crucial foundation for transforming despair and apathy into constructive, collaborative ways of being. On the second day, we continue this process of transformation, exploring how the work of the first day has opened us up to see ourselves and the world with new eyes. With this refreshed perspective, together we cultivate our power to thrive as we take part in the healing of our world.

Carol Russell is an artist, architect, and dharma practitioner. Since completing the Work That Reconnects Facilitator Training Program, she has facilitating in-person Spiral Journey workshops in Northern Arizona.

Grace Burford is an experienced educator, ordained Buddhist minister, and certified Master Naturalist. Since she first met Joanna Macy in the 1980s. Grace has facilitated this work in independent workshops and in many of the courses she taught throughout her career as a college professor.
