Deep ecological work, founded by Joanna Macy, offers a space for personal and social change within a relational process that connects us mutually, described by her as a “spiral.” The workshop content is designed to encourage us to become aware of our own deep emotional responses to the state of our world and to find ways of expressing them. They support us in transforming despair and apathy into constructive action, and allow us to experience the world as our larger living body. In doing so, we can detach from views and assumptions that threaten the continuation of life on Earth.
