Songs for the Healing of Our World: A day of singing for song leaders
Aug 17, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 6:00 pm$50
We sing to delight in life. We sing to feel our solidarity. We sing to welcome our tears.
Join us for a day of singing and learning new songs. Anne Goodwin and Kirstin Edelglass will share a large repertoire of songs that can be learned easily by a group. Workshop leaders, activists, teachers, group facilitators, summer camp counselors, and anyone interested in building community can put these songs and song-leading skills to good use. (Aspiring song leaders are welcome!)
The day will move through themes inspired by the spiral of the Work That Reconnects developed by Joanna Macy. We will share songs of gratitude, honoring our pain for the world, feeling our interconnection with all life, inviting the presence of our ancestors and future generations, and taking action on behalf of life on Earth. Participants will leave with song sheets and recordings of each song, as well as a new community of friends who love to sing!
The “singing room” of the Edelglass Homestead is an airy screen porch overlooking gardens and a pond in a clearing surrounded by forest. Delicious vegetarian lunch and snacks will be provided.
