This weekend course offers an experiential learning journey to rediscover our deep connection with nature. When we experience our interconnectedness with all beings, our personal journey becomes part of a larger story: the story of the Earth. Opening up to a wider sense of self we allow life to flow through us, and both personal and planetary healing can take place.
In this introductory weekend course on Deep Ecology participants are going to get an understanding
of the philosophy and basic concepts that underlie Deep Ecology, a movement of ecological
activism that goes far beyond conventional environmentalism. Based largely on Joanna Macy’s
“Work That Reconnects”, the course offers intellectual frameworks as well as spiritual nourishment
and practical experience. Through a participatory learning process that combines experiential
learning, deep sharing, group discussions and reflections as well as spiritual and ritualistic practice,
we share the wisdom we hold inside and tap into our inherent capacity to care, love and connect as
well as to choose and to create. Connecting deeply with our own selves, with each-other and with
Nature, we open up to the sources of power that are available to us in the sense of belonging.
