The Work That Reconnects Norway: Introduction, Coming from Gratitude
Apr 19, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 1:30 pm CEST$10 – $30
(The Event is from 11.00am-01.30pm CET)
Drawing on the work of Joanna Macy, John Seed and Arne Naess, the work is composed of teachings on deep ecology, living systems theory, and spiritual traditions and is a community building process that grows our courage, resilience, and solidarity. It helps clarify survival skills, like community building and tending to our grief, needed for navigating the chaotic times we are in, as well as the unique roles we each can play in the Great Turning. Find out more about its rich history here: www.workthatreconnects.org.
In this online workshop we will let us be guided by the spiral of the Work that Reconnects to spark courage and creativity in these times of ecological grief and corona lockdown. The Workshop will be as much as online possible participant centered and interactive, participants are encouraged to help guide the work together and contribute to the process if they feel to do so and time allows for it.
This is the first workshop in what might develop into a series of workshops, we will start our journey with Gratitude and an introduction to the Work That Reconnects. (For accessibility the Workshop will be held in mainly English, but with Norwegian/Scandinavian as supplementary language) Because of workshop size and regional work focus, participants living in Norway or neighboring countries are encouraged to apply.
Zoom: The Workshop will be held with Zoom Video, please check out Zoom before attending, and also check if you can connect properly (I invite you to have video, it helps the process if we can see each other)
The Work That Reconnects was made for these times. Times where what used to make sense is liquifying before our eyes – and we need new spaces to make sense of it. For too long, we have been looking for answers and solutions. Now is the time to inhabit the spaces of not knowing, where we find ourselves on the “knife edge of uncertainty” as root teacher Joanna Macy puts it.
Come with your questions, your grief, your confusion, come with whatever is real for you in this inbetween space. This work was developed over 50 years of working with activists and people who have lost their homes, seen destruction to their lands, and suffered through wars and conflicts and different forms of oppression. Through reconnecting with ourselves, each other, and with the magic at the source of all Life and its mystery, we discover a form of “Active Hope” which is beyond solutions, certainty or guarantee of a promised future. We rediscover our authority to act on behalf of all Life.
