Event Overview

The Work That Reconnects isn’t tied to any one place or people. It speaks to something we all carry—the longing to belong, to act with courage, and to find meaning in uncertain times. No matter where we come from, we all know grief, we all know love, and we all have the capacity to reconnect. That’s what makes this work feel like home, wherever it lands.

Beginning as an initiative from the Social Justice Committee of the WTR Network, Threads of Connection is a confluence of facilitators from around the world, each gathering spotlighting a different continent.

This panel will feature Amanda Yik from Hong Kong, Joanna Tomkins from South Africa and Rukmini Iyer from India. The conversation will be facilitated by Denise Pang from Norway.

The panel will explore topics such as the presence and growth of the Work That Reconnects in their respective regions, the role and process of translating and adapting its core texts, the facilitators’ personal journeys, and the points of resonance between these distinct cultures.

We look forward to a rich and meaningful dialogue as we continue our series of live panels spotlighting WTR facilitators from across the globe.

Amanda Yik is the founder of Shinrin Yoku Hong Kong, the first forest therapy trainer with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides & Programs (ANFT), an award-winning forest therapy practitioner, and an ICF-certified Professional Coach for Transformation.

Since experiencing a Truth Mandala in the Australian bush in 2020, she felt drawn to the profound and very relevant worldview of the Work that Reconnects, its holistic approach, and the potential for collective healing within communities.

Amanda hopes to create space for the kind of profound shifts in consciousness she has experienced to people in her communities.

Rukmini Iyer works globally at the intersection of conscious leadership, peacebuilding, and systems transformation. She’s part of the Work That Reconnects Network and serves on the faculty of the Spiral Journey Facilitator Development Program. Her facilitation weaves systems thinking, decolonial practice, and ecological wisdom. Rukmini also serves on the boards of Creators of Peace International and Gaia Passages, integrating the Work That Reconnects into teaching, community dialogues, and leadership programmes across cultures. She is based in Mumbai, India.

A wilderness guide, WTR facilitator and artist, Joanna Tomkins encourages ecological awareness and positive action through workshops and events, art and nature immersions, podcasts and articles, designed for individuals or communities. She co-designs and facilitates song circles and artistic workshops to introduce the WTR to a broader public in South Africa, where it is still emerging.

Denise Pang is a regenerative coach and facilitator, bridging cultures and disciplines. Her work integrates corporate experience with personal healing and regenerative practice. Through The Work That Reconnects, Climate Coaching Alliance, and Theory U, she supports communities in fostering right relationship within ourselves, with each other, and with all life.
