THE WORK THAT RECONNECTS: EMPOWERMENT WORK FOR HEALING OUR WORLD
We are living in difficult and uncertain times. Rapid climate changes, species extinctions, increasing political polarization and acts of violence and injustice are cause for despair. But, there is also great cause for hope when we know that creativity, courage and collective action can change our world for the better.
The Work That Reconnects is a dynamic, interactive group process that helps us gain a sense of connection to each other and the web of life, enabling us to face today’s greatest challenges and find the strength to play our part in bringing about the changes we want to see in the world.
This workshop is for you if you are feeling scared, confused, and not sure what to do about the state of world, and are looking for inspiration, support, connection, meaning, and hope.

Lydia Violet Harutoonian, a facilitator of the Work That Reconnects and musician from California, will lead the workshop. Lydia is also a musician who brings the power of music to her workshops. Supporting Lydia and organizing the event is Anne Gore, an Anchorage resident who is studying to become a certified facilitator of the Work That Reconnects. Anne worked for 25 years with environmental nonprofits to raise awareness and support for the protection of our planet and its living beings. She is now studying ecopsychology, deep adaptation, community building, and is dedicated to teaching others about Active Hope in these challenging times.
Joanna Macy is an activist, respected elder, and scholar of Buddhism, systems theory and deep ecology. You can learn more about Joanna Macy at https://www.joannamacy.net
