Work that Reconnects Workshop & Training
Apr 18, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 6:00 pm PDT

You are invited to one or both Work That Reconnects 1-day Immersion Retreat and 1-day WTR Facilitator Training in St Louis, MO on April 18th & 19th 2020 led by Lydia Violet Harutoonian, an Iranian-American artist and scholar. Lydia has spent the past decade studying with activist and practitioner Joanna Macy and is passionate about helping to transform grief, fear, and powerlessness into resilience, healing, and fortitude.
In these two offerings Lydia will lead us through an intimate experience with Joanna Macy’s “Work That Reconnects” (WTR) https://workthatreconnects.org/ . WTR is a combination of teachings, group exercises, meditations, and community rituals that support both respite and organizing towards being effective allies to both planet and people. We will learn how to metabolize pressing inner realities such as climate despair, exhaustion, and anxiety as we nourish our nervous system and source our power and dignity as members of a larger web of life.
1 Day WTR Retreat: April 18, 2020 9am – 6pm:
This one-day retreat is a wonderful opportunity to participate in a Work that Reconnects event without a large time commitment. It will be a space for nourishing your spirit, connecting with Earth in a beautiful venue, and generating ways to stay engaged with grounding practices once you leave. New to WTR? This is your chance to check it out! If you are returning to the WTR, this is a space to reengage with the Spiral in new ways. Lydia will utilize different exercises from previous workshops she has facilitated in the St Louis Region. Come and be renewed!
Lunch, snacks, and drinks will be provided.
1 Day WTR Facilitation Training: April 19, 2020 9am – 6pm:
This Facilitator Training supports emerging and experienced facilitators in deepening their theoretical understanding of Joanna Macy’s work and its context in contemporary social and ecological issues. Participants will leave with tools for facilitating the foundational exercises of the Work that Reconnects, as well as personal plans for further development, resourcing, and education. Articles and readings will be provided beforehand.
Lunch, snacks, and drinks will be provided.
