Facilitator Application

IMPORTANT!  Please follow these steps in filling out the Facilitator Application. The online application is detailed and can take some time to fill out. If you take too long, the website will kick you out and you will lose everything you typed. We are trying to fix this glitch. To avoid this problem, we ask you to first create a personal copy of the application form by using this Google Doc. Type your answers in the Google doc application, save it to your hard drive and then copy and paste your answers into the online application form (link below). If the application form doesn’t go through, you will have the original form on your computer that you can submit to us via email.

Thank you for your interest in being listed as a facilitator of the Work That Reconnects through the Network. Please review the section how to become a facilitator before applying.

The Work is open source, so anyone can use the practices as long as they acknowledge their source, Coming Back to Life by Joanna Macy and Molly Brown. However, Joanna Macy and the Work That Reconnects Network Weavers want the facilitators listed on through the Network to have experienced the work deeply as workshop participants, studied the core texts, and be able to articulate and incorporate the core teachings and worldviews in workshops, as well as having facilitated the Work in a variety of settings. For that reason, the application asks for specific information about your background and experience.

Here are three specific minimum requirements for being listed on the website:

  1. In-depth experience of the Work That Reconnects as a participant in at least a one-day workshop and a weekend workshop, or in online workshops. Whether in person or online, we are asking for a total of 18 – 21 hours of workshop time. People unable to find workshops in their region can meet this requirement through an extended study group (18 – 21 hours).
  2. Reading/studying Coming Back to Life (2014 edition) and Active Hope, and articulating your understanding of the concepts and purposes of the Work That Reconnects (in the application).
  3. Have facilitated a minimum of two workshops of at least one day in length (12-14 hours total) centered on the full Spiral of Work That Reconnects. If facilitating online, the total hours need to be 12 – 14 hours. (Incorporating a few WTR practices into other kinds of workshops does not fulfill this requirement.)

Notes:

Facilitators need to have experienced the work, not only to have read and talked about it.

People unable to find workshops in their region can meet this requirement through an extended study group (18 – 21 hours) that includes practices around the Spiral.

Thank you for all you are doing for the Great Turning.

Many blessings,

The Work That Reconnects Network Weavers & Core Staff
Constance, Frieda, Helen, Jo, Kathleen, Mutima, Paula, Shayontoni and Silvia
