Power of Community Online Summit: Climate Change and Consciousness

Silvia Di Blasio · Jan 30, 2019 · Leave a Comment

The Power of Community Summit is an entirely free, online experience organized with the goal of catalyzing community, exploring the leading edge of the regenerative future movement and increasing our collective consciousness in a climate changing world. It will take place February 1-10, 2019 and will feature three conversations shared live and discussed worldwide on multiple platforms.  To see the full list of speakers and to see which interviews are live at any given time, visit summit.ecovillage.org. To view the videos, receive daily information, updates, and be invited to participate in discussion about the summit, you are invited to register at summit.ecovillage.org.

(Note: Even if you are already on GEN’s main newsletter mailing list or are otherwise subscribed to updates from GEN through email or social media, you will need to register for the Summit specifically on the Summit site to receive access to Summit videos)

You are invited to participate in discussions directly within the comments of the videos themselves, in our dedicated Summit Facebook group, or in person in hubs which will be displayed on the Summit site.

Background:

The Power of Community Summit is the very first ever organized by the Global Ecovillage Network, in partnership with Pioneers for Change, an organization with proven success on past summits. The theme of the event is also in coordination with the upcoming Climate Change and Consciousness Conference 2019 to be held at Findhorn in April 2019.  For more on that Conference, visit CCC19.org

The Way it Works:

We are excited to welcome 30 speakers who have recorded conversations which will go live, 3 per day, over the course of 10 days February 1-10.  Each video will be accessible for a day, and then at the end of the Summit we will offer a package of all the videos for purchase to be viewed at any time.  To receive free access to the Summit, you must register at summit.ecovillage.org. Everyone who signs up for the Summit will receive a link to a free ebook: “Ecovillage: 1001 Ways to Heal the Planet”  Subscribers should expect to receive multiple email updates a day as the Summit begins. For further questions you are welcome to write to [email protected]

Publicity:

There are three things that everyone is encouraged to do to support the most vibrant and interactive Summit:

  1. REGISTER TO PARTICIPATE in the online summit and tell your friends to do so.  Here is a template of an invitation letter you are welcome to use, and don’t forget to sign up yourself:  summit.ecovillage.org As the Summit begins, please use the various forums to add your thoughts, ask questions, or invite more people into the conversation.
  2. Please LIKE and SHARE posts about the summit you’ll see on our social media in the coming days. (Facebook: @GlobalEcovillageNetwork Twitter: @GEN_ecovillages) You are also warmly welcome to create your own social media posts on Facebook, Twitter or other social media platforms you may use. (Sample text below).
    1. If you are a speaker for the conference, you will have a dedicated graphic with your image available for you to use and invite people to participate. Here is a folder of design materials you can use if you’d like to make posts of your own for yourself, speakers that particularly inspire you or even incorporate into your own invites on other social media platforms: Online Summit Materials and Design
  3. Consider supporting or CREATING YOUR OWN HUB to view the summit with friends in person!  If you would like more information about the hubs you can find it in this information letter. You can sign up to show your interest in this by using this form.
