Open Sentences on the Great Turning

Resource Type: Practices (Gratitude)

The Gratitude stage of a workshop is an excellent place to introduce the Great Turning.  We strongly recommend describing the Great Turning within the context of the “three stories” as set forth in Chapter 1.  This can help us be thankful for the chance to choose the version of reality we want to live by.

After presenting the Great Turning, we sometimes offer these three open sentences.  (For the mechanics of this exercise, see Open Sentences above).

  1.  To be alive now in this time of global crisis, what is hard for me is…
  2.  What I appreciate about living in this time of global crisis is…
  3.  As I look at my life, it seems that I am taking part in the Great Turning—and these are some of the ways…
