May 17, 2025 – Beginning as an initiative from the Social Justice Committee of the WTR Network, Threads of Connection is a confluence of facilitators from around the world, each gathering spotlighting a different continent. The Work That Reconnects isn’t tied to any one place or people. It speaks to something we all carry—the longing to belong, to act with courage, and to find meaning in uncertain times. No matter where we come from, we all know grief, we all know love, and we all have the capacity to reconnect. That’s what makes this work feel like home, wherever it lands.

This conversation is moderated by Shayontoni Ghosh from India and includes Helen Sui from China, Om Sunisa Jamwiset from Thailand, and Thao Kin from Vietnam. The panelists explore topics such as the presence and growth of The Work That Reconnects in these Asian regions, the role and process of translating and adapting its core texts, the facilitators’ personal journeys, and the points of resonance between these distinct cultures.

Panelists respond to the following questions:

  • What wounds or disconnections in your country do you think WTR can truly touch?
  • What part of your cultural heritage already ‘knew’ the Work That Reconnects before you officially found it?
  • What strengths does Asia bring to the global WTR community that are not yet fully seen?
  • What does resilience look like in your country — and how is it different from Western ideas of it?
  • How do you navigate nationalism, taboos or censorship in your country?
  • What pain or contradiction do you carry as a facilitator — personally or culturally?
  • What does decolonizing WTR actually look like for you?

Participants were invited to reflect on what resonated and what in their own cultures or context is asking for reconnection.

This webinar is a rich and meaningful dialogue, designed to kick off a series of live panels spotlighting WTR facilitators from across the globe.
