Why I am called to facilitate the Work

For decades, I have known that the direction we were going was doomed to end in catastrophic collapse of the earth systems. This Work That Reconnects gives me hope that more people will understand, support each other, and actually reverse this trend. My past experiences as an immigrant gives me a view into how many people feel like outsiders in their own society. I learned through my careers that people need compassion in order to change. I learned through Buddhism that my own changes are needed first.

How I see the Work serving the Great Turning

We need to stitch together all the patches of our society to form a quilt, representing every group that is choosing to move forward in a sustainable, regenerative manner. This includes those concerned about climate chaos, pollution, and transitioning out of fossil fuels, as well as those who have been most hurt by careless Business as Usual, such as the the historically oppressed groups, including Black, Native, women, working class, differently-abled, immigrants, the variety of sexual identities and genders, youth and the aged, as well as others. WTR will help create the communities we need to survive the coming challenges with common sense, love, and joy.
