I discovered the wonder of Joanna Macy as I explored the emerging field of spiritual ecology. In 2018 I completed a 12 month Work That Reconnects Facilitator Development Program with Molly Brown, Constance Washburn and Mutima Imani. I am an accredited Facilitator of The Thinking Environment and a Thinking Partner/ Coach. In 2015 I completed a U.Lab course with Otto Scharmer through the Presencing Institute. Decades ago, I graduated with a degree in philosophy. In my work I combine WTR with methods and processes learnt from Nancy Kline (Time to Think) and Theory U, as well as with practices and principles from the fields of spiritual ecology and mindfulness training. I also offer one-on-one sessions for people wanting to deepen their exploration of any aspect of this work, or who feel in need of a deep listening space, for whatever reason. I have been a student of a mystical path for over 16 years, and root myself in a heart-centred meditation and conscious breathing practice. I have past experience of the contemplative Christian tradition, and over the years have hosted centering prayer and meditation groups, a women’s circle and an on-line Spiritual Ecology Hub. In the 1980s, at the height of the struggle to end apartheid, I co-founded a community committed to what was then referred to as "non-racialism", where we lived and worked amongst the poor.
