I'm a Somatic Naturalist & Embodiment Mentor with 25+ years of experience. Trained as a Feldenkrais Practitioner & Embodied Life Teacher, I also teach Somatic Meditation, Embodied Listening, host community Grief Tending & Praise Practices. I also adore facilitating courses and workshops in The Work That Reconnects and I love weaving in somatic practices and soul work with WTR. I've also been mentored by Francis Weller and Deena Metzger for many years and am grateful to weave in wisdom gleaned from these potent apprenticeships. I'm devoted to cultivating intimacy with life, courageous kindness, authentic wisdom, and unique genius to support the healing of our world. I'm an Earth lover, a mother, a writer, a meditator, a permaculture gardener, a poetry lover, a beekeeper, and host a podcast along with my beloved, Carl Rabke. Learn more at embodimentmatters.com
Why I am called to facilitate the Work
I love to invite people into the Great Turning! As a lifelong somatic educator, I believe deepening our intimacy and love of our Earth and the web of life is an expression of deepening embodiment, compassion & awareness. I believe each of us has gifts to uncover to meet these times and we can bring them with the support of loving community and skillful practices. I love weaving WTR with somatic practice to deepen both. As Terry Tempest Williams wrote, "The eyes of the future are looking back and praying for us to see beyond our own time." I want to invite others into seeing with new eyes and with great embodied love.
How I see the Work serving the Great Turning
I love the Spiral! The brilliance of the structure is what magnetized me right away as someone who has facilitated gratitude practice and community grief tending. I see the Work as an adaptable bridge we can invite others who feel afraid, overwhelmed, or disheartened to walk across into a life-giving community that invites our unique gifts to come forth. I believe deep personal healing can be found in dedicating ourselves to the Great Turning, and the Great Turning can heal not only our world but ourselves.
Audiences I work with
So far, it's been predominantly women who've been my students in other areas like embodiment and meditation. (I love leading them into bringing this work to healing the world, not just themselves.)
I'm interested in exploring working with youth as I have great concern for my son's generation.
I'm also newly involved in my local permaculture community and hope to harness all their good energy and share the work there. I'm on the program team of the Jung Society of Utah and would love to bring the work to the community of people who attend JSOU events - people who are therapists and healers and interested in consciousness.
Since the pandemic I've enjoyed teaching a global group of students on zoom.
