Malin ChristenssonThe Forest Path

When I came across Joanna's books in the 1990s at Uppsala University, Sweden, I knew I will be part of this work. I am blessed to have done one workshop with her in Banff in 2009 and I have co-facilitated a few workshops and several Councils of All Beings.

I live in Nelson BC and run a forest school, outdoor deep nature connection kids programs. My background is a Masters degree in Political Science, several years working with interdisciplinary, student-led sustainability education, youth-led environmental action and non-violent direct action against nuclear weapons.

Feeling stressed and worried about the state of the world, I turned to yoga and my own ecosystem. I became a Satyananda yoga teacher and lived a few months at the Yasodhara Ashram in BC Canada. Shambhala Meditation Centre and Thich Nath Hanh are other inspirations, as well as Jon Young of the 8 shields. To decolonialize my self is important, by slowing down, being outside, be aware of thinking in story of separation and of my priviliges, attachment parenting my two kids, giving thanks, staying with the uncomfortable, opening to mystery.
