I am a Sociologist and Deep Ecologist and inspired by the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh. Nature is my wisdomkeeper, medicine, solace and companion. I worked in environmental rehabilitation and wildlife protection in nature reserves in Indonesia and Peru and am involved in nature awareness education in The Netherlands. I dedicate myself to the healing of the connection between humanity and all beings. In 2015 I completed the facilitators training with Joanna Macy. I am delighted to be available to facilitate workshops in The Work That Reconnects. You can contact me at [email protected]

More information about me on my website and in these two interviews:

Why I am called to facilitate the Work

I facilitate this work because it works for me. TWTR brings me closer to who I am, to my fellow human beings and to life itself. I am a sociologist and when I found this work, I was seeking tools to be better equipped to work with groups and combine both my sociological and environmental work.

How I see the Work serving the Great Turning

Before TWTR came in my life I have been mainly active in academia and nature reserves. You could say two steps of the Great Turning: the changing actions and holding actions. What was harder to do was to support the changes in our identity and consciousness, to internalize deep ecology, deep time. And when I read Joanna Macy’s work it gave me a solid method to help people with this inner change . The Great Turning needs all three.

Audiences I work with

Audiences I work with are people from all walks of life: policymakers, Buddhists, teachers, artists, activists, scientists, mothers and fathers, grandparents & students and children. Not a specific group. My groups are often mixed and I facilitate both in English and Dutch.

Experience facilitating other events & workshops

Future Me ongoing project. Integrating Active Hope in secondary schools. We research the possibilities with teachers from several schools. It is a different approach to the workshops since creating a safe environment for intimate sharing has to be cultivated first. We are creating practices to bring this about.

In these workshops, what WTR practices have you used and how?

I am very familiar with the open sentences, mirror walk, truth mandala, 7th generation practice, widening voices, callings and resources, the council of all beings, The Elm dance, the web of life meditation, cradling, I use voice, sound relaxation, bring in inspirations from art & literature. Deep listening.
