For the past two years, the WTR Network has collaborated with the Capra Course team to offer the Capra Course – Work That Reconnects Integration Project, for our Community and Facilitator Members.
Members of the WTR Network were invited to participate in a dedicated cohort of the Capra Course that integrated the Work That Reconnects with the Systems View of Life insights received through the course.
Capra Course is based on the The Systems View of Life, written by author, physicist and Deep Ecologist, Fritjof Capra and his colleague, Pier Luigi Luisi. The course is taught by Fritjof Capra and results from years of observation, research and activism at the academic and community level. Fritjof is the co-founder of the Center for Ecoliteracy and a long-time professor at the Schumacher College.
This collaboration between the WTR Network and the Capra Course seeks to deepen and expand our shared understandings of the interconnectedness and intelligence of Life within our WTR community. It supports WTR facilitators and practitioners in bringing the intellectual concepts of Systems Thinking into the heart-based approaches and practices of the Work That Reconnects. Our exploration is helping us to understand how systems thinking emerged and how it can be applied to both understand and heal the multi-crises we face today.
As a member of the WTR Network, you can register for future Capra Course offerings with a 25% discount.
Curious what the experience was actually like? In this blog post, we share the story of how this integration unfolded — from the early growing pains of bridging two very different worldviews, to the “aha” moments, to the voices of the facilitators and community members who lived it. Read on to hear it in their own words.
