WTR for Parents and Kids

The work of the Great Turning is dedicated to future generations of the ones who have yet to come. With that in mind, many Work That Reconnects facilitators are drawn to supporting the youngest generations who are already among us, as well as the parents who are raising them.

Parenting and education for our youngest relatives is an essential part of working towards a Life Sustaining Society. Here, we have begun to gather resources showing innovative ways that the Work That Reconnects is being used to support parents and educators and the ways it is supporting children in schools and families around the world.

Facilitators and Projects that bring the Work That Reconnects to Children, Parents and Educators

Jo delAmor, WTR facilitator and author of Raising Children in the Midst of Global Crisis, offers support for parents through a body of work she calls New Paradigm Parenting that grows out of the fertile soil of the WTR and her 20+ years of caring for children.

This work is designed specifically for parents who feel anxious and overwhelmed by the responsibility of raising emotionally and physically healthy children in this time of social, economic and environmental collapse. It reframes parenting as a powerful opportunity to contribute to the radical shift from the Power Over Paradigm to the Thriving Life Paradigm that is being called forth by the converging crises facing our world today. It empowers parents with practical tools and inner resources for rising together, with their children, to meet the challenges and opportunities of this unique moment in history.

Experience this work in Parenting in Tumultuous Times – a 12-week online WTR experience for parents.

Jen Myzel, WTR facilitator, author and singer, created an inspiring children’s sing-a-long book Yellow Lotus Flower: How One Lonesome Seed Rose Up from the Muck, with forward by Joanna Macy.
