Active Hope Practice Group
Event Overview
Join us for a monthly practice group exploring the principles of Active Hope through discussion, experiential activities, and group support. These workshops are based on Joanna Macy’s Work That Reconnects. Each group stands alone – no experience necessary. There is a maximum limit for participants, so please email Pam at pamarama2@yahoo.com to register. This is a mini retreat-like experience, so please plan to come for the entire meeting. Feel free to invite friends as well.
The challenges we face in today’s world can be difficult even to think about — climate change, mass extinction, gun violence, social and political division and upheaval. Yet, turning away from the realities we face diminishes hope. Active Hope, based on the book by Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone, shows us how to STRENGTHEN our mutual capacity to face our social and ecological crises so we can RESPOND with resilience and creative power and ACT on behalf of our world and future generations. NOTE: Feeling hopeful is NOT required in order to attend this workshop 🙂
