THE MOVING GATHERING
A participatory residency towards a format for civic ritual and performance for brave conversation about identity & healing our world, through theatre and embodied practices.
The flow of our schedule is inspired by the Work That Reconnects: we will start with gratitude, we will be honoring the pain, then seeing with fresh / ancient eyes, and going forth.
As organizers, we wish to dedicate this gathering to the memory of our beloved teacher Joanna Macy.
The Moving Gathering emerges from our reflections and open questions about brave conversations around our roles (according to and beyond our complex and dynamic identities) in healing this world.
We offer a co-creative structure, which means that there are many open slots in our program, inviting you to bring your Gift of additional knowledge and practice. The four of us will offer practice based on The Work That Reconnects, Ensemble and Participatory Theater, and Theater of the Oppressed. It will include awareness-based practices, storytelling, third narratives, ritual theatre, theatre games, and contact improvisation. Sharing circles will be held to reflect on experiences, and to co-craft practices that can promote a collective vision.
