Matthew’s conception of Creation Spirituality is born in the wonderment of our earliest human ancestors. Rooted in ancient Judeo-Christian tradition and supported by leading-edge science, it bears witness for social, environmental, and gender justice. It draws from the deep wisdom of great Christian mystics such as Hildegard of Bingen, Meister Eckhart, Thomas Aquinas, Julian of Norwich, Mechtild of Magdeburg and Thomas Merton. It is a spiritual orientation that celebrates love of the earth and the body, and a fierce commitment to community, compassion, celebrative rituals, and justice-making.

Throughout the course of his journey, Matthew has been a close colleague and collaborator with Joanna Macy, learning and growing and often teaching together over many decades of service to our living world.

During this webinar we’ll learn about Matthew’s work and his roots in Christian mysticism and we will experience the Four Paths of Creation Spirituality and explore how they align with the four phases of the Work That Reconnects spiral.
