Facing Fragility – Toward Building a Culture of Coliberation

Event Overview

Facing Fragility is a seven-month advanced anti-racism course for white-bodied folx, rooted in the decolonized expanded Work That Reconnects spiral. Through somatic practices, critical reflection, and community support, participants will deepen emotional and nervous system resilience, strengthen collective care skills, and build practical tools for interrupting white supremacy in real time. 

Sessions meet monthly on the third Saturday from April 2026 to October 2026 (beginning on April 18th). Sliding scale and scholarships available; post-production profits support Black- and Indigenous-led initiatives.

Course Structure

Facing Fragility meets monthly over seven 2.5-hour sessions, held on the third Saturday of each month from April through October 2026.

Participants can expect approximately 2 hours of prep work each month, along with a minimum of 20 minutes/week of somatic practice between sessions. You are encouraged to meet with a buddy between gatherings to build support systems, deepen your learning, and debrief your experiences.

Each session runs 9:00–11:30 AM MT / 11:00–13:30 ET / 17:00–19:30 CET. Session dates and themes are as follows:

• 18 April 2026 – Gratitude 
• 16 May 2026 – Self-Awareness/Social Location
• 20 June 2026 – Systems of Oppression 
• 18 July 2026 – Honoring our Pain for the World 
• 15 August 2026 – Seeing with New/Ancient Eyes 
• 19 September 2026 – Liberation 
• 17 October 2026 – Going Forth

Facilitated by Leah Pearson and Yulia Smagorinsky, with guest facilitator Queen Rev. Mutima Imani in the 6th and 7th session.
