Spiral Journey

Event Overview

As light returns in the northern hemisphere and summer peaks in the southern hemisphere, join us to weave together a three-hour mini expanded spiral of the Work That Reconnects. We will spend most of our time together “in the belly of the Mother” co-creating a Truth Mandala where we can name and honour our grief, anger, fear, and numbness with one another in these times of the Great Unravelling, and in so doing turn, yet again, towards the light together.

Gratitude, Systems Understanding and Social Awareness rituals will prepare the ground (first hour) for Honouring Our Pain through a Truth Mandala (second hour) followed by rituals for Seeing with New/Ancient Eyes, Collective Liberation, and Going Forth (third hour). We offer an opportunity to move through the expanded spiral with a light touch, pausing for particular spaciousness around the Truth Mandala.

We invite anyone and everyone feeling called to honour the darkness of night/winter/womb in deep connection with others around the world on this day of ripe transition from Winter to Spring, whether literally or poetically. In addition to some individual reflection and breakout groups, we’ll explore what becomes possible when the whole group does the sensing—when we let our collective body notice, breathe, and respond.

Please bring dried leaves, a stick, a rock, and an empty bowl. You might also like to have a notebook and a pen, pencil, or colouring markers close by. We ask that people participate with cameras-on as much as possible during the workshop, as we will be holding sacred space with each other. This process invites us to summon the full range of our emotions and you can choose how you wish to participate as we move through the spiral.

After registering and before the workshop, we will send you a short form with a few simple questions that will help us prepare the workshop as a container for the well-being of each participant, as well as the web of life in which we all participate.

Purpose of this fundraiser series:

Spiral Journey extends a lot of scholarship beyond our sliding scale to participants of our programs often ⅔ of our participants need scholarships in order to participate in the FDP.  In 2025, we also lovingly put a lot of time and effort into rebirthing the Spiral Journey Facilitator Development Program (FDP) to respond to requests and feedback we’ve received from recent graduates.

We’ve expanded our team and have extended 20 partial scholarships to facilitators joining the 2025/26 cohort of the Spiral Journey FDP. And we need to refill our scholarship pot!

Your contribution will help us extend even more scholarships and pay our facilitator team fairly as part of our commitment to The Great Turning!

Spiral Journey is a partnership of Work That Reconnects facilitators – we are Molly Brown, Sara El-Sayeh, Ian Goh, Rukmini Iyer, Yulia Smagorinsky, and Constance Washburn.

Spiral Journey offers programs and workshops based in the expanded spiral of the Work That Reconnects (as adapted by Mutima Imani), working toward the Great Turning, a livable future and liberation for all. The International Facilitator Development Program (FDP) is a 7-month intensive online training program for emerging and experienced Work That Reconnects facilitators that is offered annually.
