Learning to Reconnect – Expanded ‘Work That Reconnects’ Spiral Series
May 28, 2026 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm BST
Event Overview
With Learning to Reconnect we invite playful curiosity and compassion to face the challenges, the upheaval and uncertainty, of our time. Over two hours each week, we will get to know one another and use a mixture of creative and reflective exercises to explore what is alive for us.
The sessions are designed for you to have space, to slow down, to feel into the discomforts that are lurking and will be ‘dealt with later’. The six-week time span allows for this spaciousness and speaks to the reality that learning to slow down, learning to be with uncertainty, is a practise. Not a one and done activity, not even a six-and done activity!
As a small group, we will have a generous two hours together each week to embody, share, imagine and connect. There will be optional reflective practices to experiment with between each week as well.
For those that are familiar with it, we follow the spiral path as defined in the Work That Reconnects. In this six-part offering, we invite you to join us in an exploration of the expanded spiral, coming back into relationship with ourselves, with each other, and with the web of life.
Session 1 – Arriving Together
- 17:30-19:30 BST – Thursday 28th May
- Start getting to know each other, cocreate the space we’ll be playing in over the six weeks, and begin exploring the history of the Work That Reconnects.
Session 2 – Coming from Gratitude
- 17:30-19:30 BST – Thursday 4th June
- Ground ourselves in appreciation, recognise the gifts and strengths we all possess, and cultivate a sense of our collective resilience.
Session 3 – Identity, Power and Privilege
- 17:30-19:30 BST – Thursday 11th June
- Acknowledge our complexities and contradictions, get curious about how these impact the ways we show up in the world, and explore mindful practices to interrupt old patterns.
Session 4 – Honouring Our Pain for the World
- 17:30-19:30 BST – Thursday 18th June
- Create a compassionate space to acknowledge and share the often painful emotions we feel (or have numbed) for the world’s suffering.
Session 5 – Seeing with New/Ancient Eyes
- 17:30-19:30 BST – Thursday 25th June
- Use the power of imagination to explore fresh perspectives and ancient wisdom that reveal our interbeing with all life.
Session 6 – Going Forth
- 17:30-19:30 BST – Thursday 2nd July
- By bringing together all we have experienced, identify personal insights and commitments to take forward.
In these six experiential playshops we will co-create a shared space to meet each other in our full humanness, and journey together through the work. We will use a mix of small group discussion, creative and embodied activities, and reflective practices to:
- Welcome the complex emotions that are alive for you, staying curious as to what these emotions are telling you about who you are and the role you have to play
- Support you to feel less alone with the anxieties and stresses of present-day life, taking time to recognise the radical interconnectedness of all life on Earth
- Resource you to emerge with greater capacity, clarity and courage to take your next steps, whatever they are
We welcome you into this collective exploration – to reconnect with our deepest selves, each other, and the Earth, fostering resilience and clarity for the path ahead.
